If I had a penny for every piece of advocacy advice I had ever received I’d probably have almost a pound! Yes that’s right, lawyers talk a lot about advocacy. Frankly some of it’s total nonsense, some of it is quite brilliant, and much of it makes me smile. I like to think of myself as having a flamboyant style - Judge for yourself and enjoy the Art of the Advocate collection - the finer points of making submissions, eliciting evidence in examination-in-chief, trying to dismantle the opposition’s case in cross-examination, and delivering opening and closing speeches with flair and panache. As you’ll see, it doesn’t always work, unless of course it's done the Dirty Rotten Law way!
