Dirty Rotten Law is a celebration of the law and the remarkable people who devote their lives to it. It is a tribute to everyone who has ever stepped into a courtroom, opened a lever-arch file which refuses to close again, deleted their perfected work, survived a late-night deadline or wondered how on earth this became today’s legal problem.
The law can be demanding, frustrating, exhausting and sometimes absurd. Law, like life, is rarely tidy, often crazy. and sometimes far from fair. Barristers, solicitors, judges, legal executives, paralegals, court staff, witnesses, jurors, litigants and law students all know that feeling. To every one of you, we tip our wig.
Despite its eccentricities, we love the law. Not because it is perfect, but because it matters. It protects us, challenges us, bewilders us, occasionally drives us to our limits, makes us laugh, makes us cry, and every now and then produces stories beyond the extraordinary.
